The school first opened in 1976. It is situated in a beautiful rural setting within the village and at the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, midway between the market towns of Abergavenny and Brecon, some four miles from Crickhowell. The school is well maintained and provides a light, airy environment for the children to learn.
Externally the school is situated on a spacious and well designed site and the grounds provide a valuable environmental learning resource including; a playing pitch, netball court, Infant/Junior playgrounds, willow dome, a zip wire, small woodland area, tunnels, foundation phase outdoor classroom and forest school.
